This year has actually flown by. 365 days is definitely not long and yet I feel as though so much has happened this year, both good and bad. Instead of just remembering a few bits and forgetting the rest, I’ve decided to write this post as a reflection on mostly the good so I will always remember bits.
I’m not going to lie but the last four months have been really difficult at sixth form because it’s definitely not what I expected nor what I wanted it to be, but aside from that and a few bits early in the year and actually leaving high school, this year has been good for me. Here are a few good things that have happened this year:
- I managed to see five new countries.
- I stressed a good amount of times
- I got the grades that I really wanted
- I shaved Harris’ hair off
- The funky bunch was formed
- I got to try Bella Italia’s garlic bread for the first time (and second, and third, and fourth…)
- And finally, Lilla and I made this blog!
(In this photo Lilla is actually holding my results envelope because she had already put hers away and felt left out holding nothing)
Resolutions for 2018
I’m not really the biggest fans on new year resolutions, I often just think that if you are determined to do something new then you don’t need a new year to do it in, do it whenever because you can. Saying all that I might as well be like everyone else and have a few things that I want to achieve this year.
Drink more – I want to start drinking a lot more water (as should Lilla) because I do think that I am dehydrated almost 100% of the time which apparently isn’t healthy.
See more – I want to see and explore more countries/places.
Get driving – I want to get my license this year.
Smash it – I want to start being happy at sixth form and during my lessons, following on from this I want all of my uni stuff to start going smoothly like my personal statement and UKCAT (this is all if I don’t drop out obviously).
Read more – Lilla and I had an agreement to both read 5 books by my birthday, but seeing that I’ve already done this I want to try read at least 25 books this year (25 isn’t really a lot but I have 0 time so this will be an achievement).
and most of all just be happy because this really should be what we all want at the end of the day.
I hope you all have a brilliant 2018!!
peace out – Jasmine
